Fellowship info sessions
During these 60 minute sessions, participants will hear from Dr. Maria Covarrubias, Vice President of Leadership Development of the Diversity in Leadership Institute (DLI), Emmanuel Barrera, Fellowship Director of DLI and Dr. Manuel Ponce, Director of the Institute of School Leadership and Administration (LMU) about the Aspiring Principal of Color Fellowship Program. This 16-month program is designed for and by school leaders of color. If you want to become a principal, are located in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, are a culturally responsive educator and committed to social justice... this fellowship is for you!
The information session will include the program rationale, admission requirements and critical deadlines. All interested Fall 2023 applicants are welcome to attend! Call information will be provided to all RSVPs 24 hours prior to the session.

Supporting Black Student Excellence
The Diversity in Leadership Institute and the Charting the Course to Equity Coalition aim to inform, equip and mobilize parents, students, community members, and organizations to support the passage of the Black Student Excellence through Educator Diversity, Preparation, and Retention Resolution on February 8, 2022.
Amplify Summit
The Amplify Summit was a 2-day virtual summit to prepare, support, and sustain California’s public school leaders of color featuring:
Interactive panel discussion with exemplary Black and Latinx K-12 school leaders
Healing / restorative circle addressing racism, bias, and micro-aggression in public education
Presentation of leading research highlighting the importance of racial diversity and student outcomes
Professional development for educators
Schools We Deserve: Equitable Education for Students of Color
Rewatch a Town Hall led by California public school students, parents, and educators of color that centered a critical discussion about the equitable reopening of schools.
